Planning a destination wedding in Mexico is already such a dream—but choosing the right flowers for your beach celebration? That’s where it gets fun and a little tricky.
If you’re getting married somewhere along Mexico’s stunning Pacific coast like Puerto Vallarta, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, or nearby beach towns, this guide is for you. I’m a local floral designer based in the area, and I’m sharing all my favorite tips to help you design florals that fit the setting and your style perfectly.
1. Go Seasonal (Your Flowers Will Thank You)
One of the biggest tips I give all my destination brides? Trust the season. Some flowers just don’t do well in tropical heat or aren’t easy to get in this part of Mexico. The good news? We have so many beautiful options available locally!
Some seasonal and heat-loving blooms I love using in this region:
Bougainvilleas (so dreamy for Sayulita-style weddings)
Orchids & Anthuriums (perfect for a tropical-chic Punta de Mita vibe)
Garden Roses & Lisianthus (timeless favorites that hold up in PV heat)
By choosing flowers that are in season and locally sourced, you get better quality and stay within budget.
2. Match Your Florals to Your Wedding Style & Location
The beach towns along Mexico’s west coast each have their own personality:
Puerto Vallarta: Lush, romantic, colorful
Punta de Mita: Elegant, clean, modern luxury
Sayulita: Boho, relaxed, vibrant
Your florals should reflect your venue, your energy, and the vibe of your celebration. Whether you want something laid-back and beachy or more editorial and modern, floral design can help set the tone.
As a designer, I love creating pieces that feel organic, textured, and intentional. With a little soul in every petal.
3. Play with Color—It Looks Gorgeous by the Ocean
The west coast of Mexico is full of warm tones, golden sunsets, and tropical energy—so why not reflect that in your flowers?
You don’t have to stick to traditional white. Go for earthy pinks, dusty corals, creamy neutrals, or even bold pops of color. They photograph beautifully against the ocean, palm trees, and terracotta walls.
4. Let Your Bouquet Tell Your Story
Your bouquet is such a personal detail—it should feel like you. Whether that means soft and romantic, bold and sculptural, or loose and wild, your bouquet can be your statement piece.
We’ll design something that matches your dress, your energy, and the whole vibe of your day—whether you're walking barefoot in Sayulita or down the aisle of a luxury villa in Punta de Mita.

Work With a Local Designer (It Makes All the Difference)
Pinterest inspo is amazing, but a designer who knows this region (and the climate!) can guide you toward what will actually work.We know what blooms survive the heat, where to source the best local flowers, and how to create magic even in remote locations.
Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement on the beach or a full wedding weekend in a private villa, having a local floral designer means fewer surprises and way more ease.
Planning a wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Punta de Mita, Sayulita or anywhere on Mexico’s west coast? I’d love to be part of your journey.
From lush bouquets to dreamy ceremony arches and magical floral installs, I’m here to help you bring your vision to life—beautifully, intentionally, and joyfully 🌸
